Do I Believe?
Hey Gang,
Let me make a statement of faith – God can! This thought carries me through every day. As we walk by faith we know we can climb any mountain we face because God can. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” God can. As a pastor to thousands of people I face decisions daily that affect so many people. I try to lead our church to do great things for our Lord. We push the envelope in so many ways and it is the knowledge that God can that keeps me going. If my faith falters I remind myself – God can.
Remember the three Hebrew youths who faced immediate death in the fiery furnace if they did not bow to the King’s idol? With the fire in plain sight and looking at the contorted face of a furious king, they said, NO! “We won’t bow to your idol.” “Heat the furnace 7 times hotter. Now what will you boys do?” “We know that our God is able (God Can) but if HE does not, we will not bow.” Gang, that is faith! They knew God Can. Do you know it? Do you walk by faith enough to see His miracles? He loves to do miracles for His kids. We must “believe that He is and He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
Live this and every day knowing God Can! Your miracle could be just right around the corner.
Love ya,
Pastor

AMEN! Thanks for the encouraging reminder!
Wow! I want to make it a priority to live by this kind of faith! perfect timing…God really spoke to me through this.
Hey Pastor, our son Matthew was diagnosed as deaf by his pediatrician and also by in home observation by the University of Tennessee when he was very little. While this is not the end of the world, at the time being a young man about 27 years old, I was panicking about learning sign language. I may be very good at what I do for a living, but learning alternate forms of communications are not my forte! I began to sincerely pray for God to give him hearing. I already knew with all my heart and soul this was possible because I had survived a really bad jet ski wreck with minor injuries a little over a year before that. I also knew that God may have a plan for Matthew and that his hearing may not be restored. Not long after that, I was leaving our 60 year old house for work and shut the big bulky door. I hear Misty inside say something really loud and ran back inside. She said that Matthew had been startled by the door! He heard the door shut. We took him back to the pediatrician, and she said she could not explain it but he could hear! The lady at the University of Tennessee said it was a miracle. It was really sad that the doctor who is a non believer elected to believe that she had just made a mistake despite the fact a third party specialist had been in our home for observation to confirm the diagnosis.
So what I learned from that was it is just as important to acknowledge and tell people about the miracle as it is to receive it. The enemy would get great joy out of robbing God of his credit for that by explaining it away as something other than divine intervention.
I love this!!! Especially the part that God Can, but, if He doesn’t, we will not bow!!!
