Fuel?
Hey Friends,
It’s the end of another great week and God is still on His throne. One of the questions I am asked a lot is how I keep going. I am usually a very high-energy, high-passion person. So, how do I keep it up? It is a great question.
Proverbs says, “For a lack of wood, the fire goes out.” How do we keep the fires stoked? You probably know that followers look to us for encouragement and help in their journey. So how do you, the leader, keep going?
MY FUEL:
1. Prayer. I can do nothing and He can do everything.
2. The Word that fires my soul.
3. The vision of the church growing and God using us to change lives and set the captives free.
4. The thought of hell and those who will go there.
5. Remembering my past and the thought of those trapped like I was.
6. The knowledge that the Bema seat awaits me. I only have today to work.
7. The prayers of the saints and my prayer team at FPC.
8. The staff at FPC that always encourages me to go on.
9. A family that loves and supports me and cheers me on to greater heights.
10. The Holy Spirit that I try to give Lordship in my life daily.
What fuel fires you up? You must know yourself – keep fueling the fire or it will go out. And who will suffer? You are a radical and God’s Hand is on you for His Glory!
Yours to count on,
Pastor

I feel run down quite often. I believe it is because the flesh can not handle housing the WORD of God for any length of time. It faints or rebels. Both are just as bad, as far as how it effects our spiritual life. I have started giving my self permission to do as Jesus and go seek out alone time with Him. Because we are required to bring oil along “in” our “vessels” with our lamps….if we are to be wise: God is the only supply of this and the only way our lamps can remain lit, we must seek Him to refuel. In filling that vessel I close out all else. It may seem selfish to judging eyes but we only get our life from the vine not the branches or the grapes. But if I get my fuel from Him then I can have the strength when it is needed most…at midnight. As long as we have work to do for the benifit of others, we can do nothing apart from Him and a soul who knows this, will also know that alone time with God is the only thing of value that I have to give anyone or recieve from anyone…meaning…I want fellowship from a renewed mind not a wolf in sheep’s clothing. I have found, I am of better use when I refuel with Him. So I guess that’s really the only thing. But in that One, there are many sweet gifts…my family,my pets, music, authors, and trials, the world & the times. Whatever we bring before Him, He uses for our good in some way or another. He is the Master Inventor when it comes to wood (fuel to keep us going) for our desires, passions, and concerns. And I trust His fuel.
Thanks for sharing that Pastor. Those are thoughts to remember and some good thoughts to incorporate into my own thinking.
