Kingdom Opposition
Hey gang.,
Most of you who read this blog have a heart for God and His Kingdom. We all really want to make a difference. The more you press into the enemy’s camp to take souls and set the captives free the more opposition you will encounter. Sometimes the opposition is not easy. We expect opposition from hell and it’s inhabitants but we don’t expect to face it from our own family and friends. I must tell you that after 25 years in ministry my scars, pain, and problems have come from inside the Church and not outside.
I have been attacked by church members, staff, and their families. This is something I was not taught in seminary. Actually it is just a small fraction of the stuff I didn’t learn in seminary. When I became the Pastor of a Church I was not prepared for the onslaught of heat from the Church. I could give you many of the reasons why people have gotten mad at me, but that it a subject for another blog. The reason for this blog is that no matter what opposition you face you must go on. Jesus deserves that we go down swinging for Him just as He did for us. Never give up!
It is amazing that we train to face the Devil and it is in our family we take the greatest heat. Please “Stay on the alert, the Devil is a roaming lion seeking whom he may devour.” Later this year we are planning a series on spiritual warfare. Please know that we all face opposition and you are not alone in the fight. Jesus has already faced it, and won. We serve the Winner. He walked out of the grave.
Together we can make a difference for Jesus and His Kingdom, if we “do not grow weary in well doing.” Remember Jesus is praying for you right now and you are being cheered on by “such a great cloud of witnesses.” Hang in there no matter the opposition and you will receive a crown when you get to heaven. You can also make a big difference here before you get there.
love ya
Pastor

No matter the oposition, no matter how hard the fight God is so awesome! Being in his presence is so worth it. Thank you for sharing Pastor, there is no better way to start the day than with the ruler over EVERYTHING; and maybe that pot of coffee.
The Lord is truly blessing you! You’ve hit things right on the mark, again. Thank you for listening to God and being honest enough to write it down for everyone to see and learn from. It shows that you are human after all, not something on a pedestal. Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much for your encouragement. So true. I love spending time seeking God’s wisdom, reading his word and hearing His truths from the Holy Spirit. I sometimes think, who am I that the Holy Spirit would draw so close to me? I get so excited about things God has shown me that I want to tell my family and friends. Not to preach at them but just to give God the Glory and tell them how great God is, but most often when I want to share my excitement with family, they don’t want to listen. When I share it with my friends they are receptive to the truth. I had a family meeting to discuss some misunderstandings recently, and wanted to have a 15 minute session of seeking God’s word on the matter and I was told… “we didn’t come here for Bible study, we came to get issues out in the open.” As a mother, you can imagine how that made me feel. But you know what, God is still in control. He knows all things. My family may not know my heart, but God does. We can’t control how others respond, but God knows when we respond to others in truth, gentleness, and love. Your efforts are not wasted, those seeds you plant out of love, actions you show out of love – God sees those things, and we reap what we sow, and those seeds of love we plant will come back to us — don’t ever give up.
I thank you Lord that your are in control of all things. We don’t have to worry about how you are going to work out the details, we just need to give it all to you, walk in truth and love so that you may shine through us, and leave the consequence up to you.
