Leaders Rise to the Top in Tough Times!
Hey Friends,
This week in the blog let’s look at our culture right now and what you can do as a leader. People are counting on you. “Leaders are not made in a crisis, they are revealed in a crisis.” They rise to the top in tough times. History is full of them. As a matter of fact, they direct history in the toughest of times. We could talk about Abraham Lincoln, Winston Churchill or a myriad of other history makers who were all revealed in tough times.
I think most of us would agree we are in a milieu that can at least reveal who are the leaders. Will you rise to the top now? Will you make a difference in your family, group, class, business, church, or social club? Right now people are looking for help and hope. Will you be the one to give it? Will you have faith enough to believe and speak into some critical circumstances?
Leaders rise to the occasion. One of the jobs for leaders is to define reality for the followers. Peter Drucker said, “A time of turbulence is a dangerous time, but its greatest danger is a temptation to deny reality.” The ostrich option is rarely the best one! Let me give you some reasons we fail to face reality:
1. Presumption of the future. When the economy gets better we will … No guarantee there, is there?
2. Fear to face the future head on.
3. Wishful thinking.
4. Hearing only what we want to hear. Do you pick your news station according to your political bent? Most do! Get the facts, face the future and lead your team to grow, get better and win in a harsh climate.
What do you need to do in your position of leadership? What do you need to face that is very difficult? Is there anything you are ignoring that you hope will go away? Be the leader you know you can be. Be the leader God has made you to be. Our job is not to please everyone, our job is to lead!
How are you doing?
Love ya and you’re not alone,
Pastor

I am amazed at how God teaches me through the things I read. This blog has such power that it makes want to get up and do something!!!! Thank you God…thank you Pastor for leading me!!
“Our job is not to please everyone, our job is to lead!” Right on. I feel like this is difficult, and I also feel that a lot of leaders failed at times because of this. I’ve done it. I’ve seen others do it. What a great challenge.
I second Angie McIntyre. Today this is a much needed sentiment and I believe straight from the Mouth of My Lord Jesus. Only the Spirit knows the inner workings of the hearts and circumstances of each individual that breathes, and only He can through others obediance and adherance to His Voice can cut straight to the point when they know nothing of others circumstances. He never ceases to amaze me and He always gives exactly what we need when we need it.
Thank you Pastor for loving God enough to let Him work through you. I do want to say I know that it is Him that first loved you but I am greatful none the less.
Three great commtents and others are helped as you guys comment. Thanks
