N-Security Is A Killer!
Hey Gang,
Yesterday we talked about who you will please. The topic of insecurity is central in this discussion! As we all know, insecurity is at an epidemic level. The same levels exist both in the Church and outside the Church. This means most of us have some level of insecurity in us and it is a killer. Insecurity will cause us to hedge our bets instead of fully following Christ. We will place pleasing others as our paramount priority. If we walk down this road we will not make decisions that we perceive will be disliked, even if we believe God is in it. This is a killer in Kingdom leadership!
So, time to search you! Is there any insecurity? We should shed insecurity because we are “In Christ.” “Old things have passed away and new things have come.” Our security is not in our ability but in the One that died for us! There is a theological treasure in the study of “in Christ.” When we realize who we are and whose we are, insecurities should slowly slip away.
Is your number one goal to please God? How worried are you about pleasing others? Do you speak the truth in love or do you fear how people will see you? Insecurity is sneaky and will kill your leadership.
Love Ya,
Pastor

Spending time with God, being full in his presence through prayer and devotion is just wonderful. Reflection is where we see ourselves. A place where, with God’s help, we open our eyes to the truths that are real vs. the truths we feel or tell ourselves in our own mind. My truths are that yes, I am insecure. No matter the impression, inside I am without confidence. As you say, a killer. I have spent a lifetime, as many of us do, pleasing others so that I could be accepted and feel proud of myself for the good work I had done or the happiness I brought. Word to mind… fleeting. I don’t think I have to tell you how the rest of the story goes, do I? Exactly, because my humility checked out and my pride took over to save others in hopes of saving myself. So, I find your questions to be of great direction and clarity for my devotion today. With that, I was drawn to read the short but powerful book of Philippians this morning. Paul’s letter just spoke of wonderful and awesome things about living “in Christ”, acting with love, discernment, humility and understanding. I felt it was great scripture to keep me mindful of rejoicing and pleasing God according to His perfect will so that I will become secure in the task of leading my life “in Christ”. I especially loved Php 4: 4-7. Thank you for your message today Pastor. You have a great charge upon you to lead as the ultimate imitator of Christ and my prayers are always with you.
I really enjoyed this blog. Insecurity is such a big, scary word and a place I do not wish to dwell. Thanks for reminding me of where my security lies, in GOD.
