Rewards – How Do You See Them?
Hey Friends,
Better late than never! I asked a question on a post last week and you guys did great with your responses. I think I’ll do that once a week. My question today is: how do you see rewards in the Scripture? What do you think about them? They seem to be forgotten or rejected totally today. I am working on the next series at FPC and could use the input.
There must be a reason no one ever talks about them anymore!
I pray you have a great summer filled with Jesus and fun and rest.
Love ya,
Pastor Chris

Heard a great sermon on rewards at a KARM fund raiser. The speaker said that when we give (things given above tithing) we are transferring our wordly wealth into heavenly wealth. I would like to believe that. Hope this helps.
What rewards?
The only rewards that I focus on regularly are provisional. If I dedicate myself to what God asks me to do, God will provide for it and provide for other needs I have and periodically provide out-of-the-blue blessings on top of that. That’s my experience. I have had my job saved through no effort of my own. I have had my kids blessed as my wife & I do ministry work that we logically thought would be too taxing on the kids & our family unit. God has asked our family to invest in specific others, and we get ridiculously blessed back through them. When I lose hope in work for God, I eventually gain clarity (thank you, God) and see how God has provided in the past… and I get encouraged to march forward.
This is the reward that I focus on.

Very simply put, Rewards are not what we receive, but what we can and do give to others out of love. The reward is being able to look to God and say, “Thank you God that you put me in a position to help my fellow man.”
Rewards. On earth as it is in heaven. Gods day length is not the same as ours. The real rewards always seem to have a desert time
Rewards…that’s interesting. I think of rewards as something earthly that we use to compare our life with others. Rewards are like possessions, they can create jealousy. I don’t know about Bible doctrine on rewards, but I do know that when we see Jesus face-to-face rewards won’t matter.
The Bible talks about heavenly layers doesn’t it? I think of the heaven that redeemed believer go to is a perfect place where we have constant fellowship and praises with God.
The amount of jewels in my crown will not matter to me nor anyone else, if it mattered there would be jealousy and contention. I will continue to serve God’s Kingdom with my heart.
We use the terms rewards to justify how godly we are. Does it matter? I’m curious.
I’m excited about to hear what you have in store, Pastor. I know it will be full of Biblical teaching and Scripture quotes.
Love ya.
The reward I am interested in is a more vital, deeper and closer walk with God and growing in my relationship with Him to better become the person He has planned for me to be. Love is the motivation, and being closer to God is the reward.
