Insecurity is a Personal Problem
Hey Friends,
I’m going to try an experiment with the blogs, daily devotions, and tweets. This may take some time to get done. I want to try to theme the topics. So for a starter let’s try September as the month of security. I don’t mean the kind provided by the police. I mean personal security, or as many more experience – INSECURITY! As you know this blog leans toward leaders; insecurity will destroy a leader.
Whether you lead yourself, a small group, or a church/organization, insecurity is a sure stopper of leadership. At the very minimum it will retard your personal potential and that of the group you lead. For over 25 years in ministry I have watched insecurity slam pastors and leaders. It is hazardous to you and your group. Insecurity blinds you. It causes you to hesitate and miss the opportunities God provides. When He opens up a door He expects us to walk through it, not hesitate and vacillate until the door closes.
Insecurity will hamper the work of God in you and through you. Insecurity will destroy our discernment and the ability to see clearly. I could go on for days about how horrible insecurity is for leaders. I have seen it too many times. So let’s take September and deal with this downward spiral in leadership.
Remember the answer is not about us, but about God and what HE said in His Word about us. “With Him I can do all things.” Do you believe the Bible? I know that you do, so let’s incorporate it into our daily lives. Just a thought; more to come. Check out the daily devotional on this web site. Let me know how the experiment goes. Thanks for the help!
Yours to count on.
Pastor

What do you mean by insecurity? I think I understand the terms meaning and not being sure of yourself or firm in your steps. Could you give some examples?
I know, personally, that insecurity begs you to take the counterfeit…that can sometimes actually be sin. but it can also be the easy way around things. What do you mean specifically?
Or you might be talking about having confidence, boldness, or being intentional when God calls on me as a leader. is this right?
Insecurity, that is a two edged sword and starts with doubt and unbelief which is certainly put into our minds by the devil.
Three weeks ago we started a series based on the Third part of the God head or the Holy Spirit. I think it is vitally important for all Christ Followers to grasp the concept and accept the HS as there helper. Or spiritual help-mate.
We can find security and confidence in God through Jesus with the help of His Spirit in us. Leave out 33% of the equation and you will walk around lost hoping that God will meet you at your need. Which He will however it is much more victorious and gives glory and testimony to His name when we walk it out by faith and show the results without having to ask for a miracle every three months.
The relationship you have with His Spirit is as important as your salvation. Salvation is important to you, the relationship is important to Him. God will give you the confidence you need to be a bold leader, just ask the Helper, talk to Him and listen. Pray and ask for guidance. Seek and be sought, make yourself transparent let the Spirit work through you and glorify His name, people will follow.
Ouch! My toes!
God reminds us who we are in his Word and we challenge our old man by how we are with other people–stopping at the end of each day and observing my actual behaviour versus my intended behaviour lets me see if I am taking any Faith risks.
The Journey toward Christ Security is a Journey worth taking.
