Spiritual Stimulus Package
Hey Gang,
It would seem that all the news is reporting is the stimulus package signed by the President yesterday. I’m not too sharp with economics, but I know a little about stimulus, or should I say Spiritual Stimulus. The news anchors continually report on the slagging, lagging recession our economy is in, and how we can get out of the doldrums. We all experience slumps in life, and I don’t mean just economically. When we take a nose dive into the doldrums we need an injection – a stimulus of the spiritual kind. Today, are you flying high or sinking low? Some of us need a little ”wind in our sails.” That is what the Holy Spirit does in the life of a believer. He is our Spiritual Stimulus Package. He puts wind in our sails. I love to see and feel a full powerful sail, don’t you?
If you need a lift, then just look to the Lord. Do what I do every day. In the morning I surrender my life totally to the control of the Holy Spirit, as much as I know how. (Eph. 5:18; Gal. 2:20) I ask Him to take over and He does. I ask Him to fill and flood my soul with His Spirit and He does because it is His will and desire to do so. Too many Christ-followers are “running on empty.” Trying their best to honor and serve God without the power to do so. “Those that walk in the flesh can’t please God.” His words, not mine. Don’t shoot the messenger. Do you need a spiritual stimulus? Do you need energy and power? Do you need guidance and direction? That is part of the Job Description of the Holy Spirit. That’s why Jesus said He needed to go to the Father – so He would send the Helper. It would be better for us, or so Jesus said. I believe it!
Open up today. Ask the Father to fill you and you might be amazed at His power and presence in your life. “My cup is running over.”

Possibly the greatest advantage sitting under your ministry is Scripture in shoe leather, you teach us the daily walk with Christ. Throw that in with an amazing God, who always delivers how can we lose?
1Jn 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
I think the Lord gave us a picture so we could understand the concept, you can find it in Luke 24 beginning at verse 14, The Lord Jesus came alongside the sad pair, one word the New Testament uses for the Holy Spirit is Paraclete, one who is called along side to help.
The next work of the Holy Spirit is teaching us the truth.
Joh 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”
And what a Bible study that was , Luk 24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.
Here is the clearest statement that the whole Bible speaks of the Lord. So what is the cure for sadness, just a little walk with the Lord makes it right. The two that walked with Jesus that day went from dying embers to flaming hearts just by hearing the ministry about our Lord. “Did not our hearts burn within us as He opened unto us the Scripture.” The Holy Spirit is doing that today. Again the Lord showing them and all of us the work of the Holy Spirit is just as real today, guiding us into the truths of our Lord.
And the last work the Lord shows us is WORSHIP, “he was made known to us in the Breaking of the Bread” Those who will worship must worship in Spirit & Truth.
The Lord JESUS picked this occasion to reveal in a physical manner what the Holy Spirit would teach us spiritually. What an awesome provision from an awesome God. Thank you for the Spritual jumpstart this morning!

i can’t tell you how much i am enjoying reading your daily blogs. i don’t podcast, so, i am really enjoying your words, since i can’t hear them in person!! so encouraging!!!
I was just pointed to your blog and it was good to read your words. The economic stimulus plan is really a downer, but it may work or it may not. When I start to dwell on this I need to remember my purpose and that “He is our Spiritual Stimulus Package”
