Technology Rocks
Hey Gang,
I know the title Technology Rocks is sort of off, coming from a technoboob like me, but the fact of the matter is that it rocks. God is using technology at Faith Promise Church is some amazing ways. Last week we launched an Internet Campus. In the two weeks since its inception we have had people from over 9 different states and 2 countries. The first week we launched, a family in Knoxville saw the I-Campus and got dressed and came to the 11:45 service and were back for the Discovering Faith Promise class at 5:00. How cool is that! Today a lady entered the chat room and let us know she was disabled and not physically able to go to Church. She was praising the Lord for the opportunity to worship and be a part of a worship service. Yes God rocks, and He is using technology. I want to be a part of using what ever medium possible to get out the message of the cross. That is why I blog, twitter, facebook, and do daily devotions.
Remember, I am the technoboob, and I want to keep learning and using every possible means to get help out to this culture. The current teaching series we are in at FPC I am using a diving board to represent the family. The family is where we all dive into life. I want to use the arts, creativity, innovation, and any other way to help people connect with Christ.
God is at work and we are breaking over one of the last big barriers in Church growth. We are not cresting over 3000 in worship attendance. It is a new world for us at FPC. Daily we are facing new challenges and it is a blast. We are all called to walk by faith and it is not easy. We are trying our best to “keep pressing on toward the prize.” Pray with me a God continues to open up new doors and new challenges for our Church. HE is work and He will use anyone willing to step out on the limb. I think the main problem we face in taking steps of faith is when we get older we have more to loose and we are less likely to step out by faith. I have made the commitment to keep risking and walking on the water regardless. God honors our faith and belief in Him. Our faith moves Him. So as we get older and have more to loose will we keep rolling the dice? Will we keep stretching? Pressing? Trusting God to move in power? The next steps of faith I see God moving me/us toward are leaps of serious magnitude. Are you ready, or are you comfortable? “Not that I have achieved it or attained it already, but one thing I do: I press toward the mark of the high calling….” Are You? Let’s use all we have to change the world. What is your next leap into the world of water walking?
love ya. It is going to be a great week.
Your Paastor

Lets not wait so long for the next thing that comes around the bend.
Love you Pastor.
Thank you for pushing us to strive for God!
Your example and words have helped our family tremendously in getting our spiritual act more together.
We have never been as involved in a church as we are here……Why?
Because no one ever asked. Seriously. None of the other churches we have been at, have had the pastor asking…no..insisting that we had to get involved.
And then had a system set up to make that a reality.
FPC makes it so easy to get involved there,as you said sunday…there are no excuses.
Keep pushing, keep talking, and keep walking!
We need and appreciate your example!
love ya!

Hey Pastor I could not agree with Willie more. Thanks for the encouragement, and from Isaiah 53, that was some real spiritual nourishment! I does seem like the cross embarrasses some who name the name of Christ, and what a shame to not know the cross is the power of God! What did our Lord think of the cross, He gave THANKS for the cup and He gave thanks for the bread. Both symbols of His cross! HE GAVE THANKS!
I also loved where you finished in Acts reflecting on Pauls conversion and how he never lost the wonder of it. It is interesting to note how Paul describes his actual conversion, he starts out with a light from Heaven in chap 9, then in chap 22 it was a GREAT LIGHT from Heaven, then in chap 26 it was a bright light brighter than the noonday sun! See how as he grew in the Lord his experience with Christ grew to an overwhelming brightness. Light in Scripture means wisdom or knowledge. When Christ overwhelmed Paul, then was able to teach to those around him.
acts 9:3
there shined round about him a light from heaven
acts 22:6
suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me
Act 26:13 At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.
The Lord overwhelms you and we swim in the overflow!! Thanks be to God for His indescribable Gift!

Pastor, thanks so much for your leadership in this area! Keep on walking by faith and risking it all! It inspires me to do the same.
