U 2.0
We have all seen upgrades in software; the pop-ups happen daily as programs are improved. God wants to give us an upgrade. U 2.0 I firmly believe God wants us all to grow daily. Many stay stuck in a religious rut because of no plan to grow. During the month of December we will talk about your growth. It is my prayer for you that by the end of the year you have a plan in place. Let me show you my plan for 2008. Remember I sort of get paid to be spiritual, so here goes:
2 hours of devotion 5 days a week
52 memory verses
Read Old Testament once and New Testament twice
Read 50 other books
Fast 12 days
Meditate on Scriptures during devotion
Share my faith with 26 people
1 personal prayer retreat of 2 days
Exercise 5 days a week
That is my starting point. I would ask you to start a plan. Make it obtainable yet streach yourself. Let me know your problems so we can help each other. We have 3.5 weeks to prepare your plan.
Love ya,
Pastor Chris
P.S. I’ll let you know how I did with my plan and goals at the end of the year.

Nice… I’m especially interested in 2 areas… fasting and a personal prayer retreat.
I set a goal (perhaps more stretch than I thought) of fasting 15 times this year. I managed 3… any suggestions on how to grow this spiritual discipline?
Also, do you “leave town” for your prayer retreat?
Thanks!
Drew, Thanks for your questions. Two things I would do with the fasting. One read a good book on the subject. Ronnie Floyd has one, and second schedule in advance your fasting days. Rarely will u wake up and think today would be a great day to fast. Flesh hates it. I leave town for personal prayer retreat. Terry Duponts house or i have gone to monistary in Ky. its almost free. Keep growing. let me see your 09 plan upon completion.
Keep soaring

Pastor Chris,
I am going to try this growth plan thing. I have tried several times before and failed. However, I see it as the next logical step in my spiritual walk. Any advice?
Also I am going through a rough time finacially. My wife needs a job and/or I need a second job. I am on a see-saw with trusting God to take care of it and the next minute wanting to fix it myself. I would appreciate your prayer. Thank you and God Bless.
Brian, Great to hear from you. Keep at it. Write you a new plan for the new year. Keep on going with spiritual plan. I will pray for you and your wife. Work all you can and trust God all you can. It will get better.
love ya

Me and my husband have started working on our growth plan. We are so excited to be growing another year with God. My family is so blessed to be attending Faith Promise.
God had brought us to Faith Promise about two years ago. My husband had a terrible work accident and could of easily died and our first son was born two weeks after his accident with a birth defect. After my husband recovered and my son had his first successful surgery, We were just so blessed at the miracles we were given and we just felt like God was calling for us to find a church. Within a couple of weeks my husbands friend invited us to Faith Promise. And from that first day we visited we’ve attending on a regular bases. You’ve really helped us as you say “get out of the boat.”
We know with our spiritual growth plan we have a lot more growing to do, but since we’ve attended Faith Promise we have really started to get out of the boat.
My husband has started his first year of college. I finally got out of my comfort zone and started serving in the Promise kids on Sunday and I’ve chosen to go back to college and hopes to attend Johnson Bible College.
We can’t wait to see where the Lord leads us.
I just wanted to say Thank you to you Pastor, Michelle, and the whole church team for everything you all do. God Bless you all. We love you all at Faith Promise!!!
Jennifer, Wow, it’s exciting to see all God is doing in your life and in your family’f life. I pray that in 2009 you experience the greatest grow ever. God has big plans for you guys. Keep soaring. Thanks for the ministry you do within our spiritual family.
Love ya
