Where Do I Put Them?
Hey Friends,
As you know, leaders are called to do so many things in building the organizations they lead! One of the most important things we do is build teams. It is our job to know where to place people to help the team run to the best of its ability.
Frances Hesselbein wrote, “Peter Drucker reminds us that organizations exist to make people’s strengths effective and their weaknesses irrelevant. And this is the work of effective leaders. Drucker also tells us that there may be born leaders but there are far too few to depend on them.” Since we all want to be better leaders, we must work at how to build a team and how to put people in their individual strengths to create the best possible team. For us to be better leaders we must get better in maximizing our assets, and our only appreciable asset is people.
- Do you know the players on your team?
- Do you know their strengths and weaknesses?
- Do you know what motivates them and de-motivates them?
- Do you know who works best together?
- Do you know who manages the best and who needs to be the leader?
- Are you able to communicate to each team member?
- Can you have the hard conversations to help bring out the best in each player?
As the leader you need to know this information and more. Do you know the potential or capacity of each member of the team? This is tough stuff, but if your team is going to make a difference then this is imperative for you know and deal with.
I pray for each of us that we are able to bring out the best in our teams. Lord, use us to maximize ministry to impact this world with your love, to rescue those that are on their way to hell. Use us to make it hard to go to hell from our towns and cities. We are yours, Lord. Have your way in us and make us the best leaders possible for your glory!
Let’s do it together.
Love ya,
Pastor Chris
