Hey Friends,

Remember, this weeks’ blogs are about leadership in the midst of crisis. If you are the coach and the game is on the line, who are you going to put in the game? If you are a football coach and you have time for one more play that must be a TD, who are you going to throw the ball to? As a leader you have to know how you will face this dilemma. It will test and prove your leadership ability.

We are in a bind on our staff. As you know, we called Chuck Carringer as our Pastor of Family Ministries. He is a class act and a great leader in his own right. As he came on staff our high school pastor left for First Baptist Dallas – quite a jump. His assistant followed him there to help build the team in Dallas. That left Chuck with no one on the high school staff. When Chuck was called here we were already without a children’s minister. Wow, what a way to start!

Remember, we have a huge children’s ministry and strong high school ministry. All we could do was tell Chuck to go long and throw him the ball. He rarely misses and he never drops the ball. I could tell you about the great lengths he as gone to in trying to fill the vacant positions – wow! In October he planned an outreach to kids on Halloween weekend and broke all attendance records. Way to go Chuck!

Who do you have in your life that you can call on? Are you a “crunch time” player? Leaders shine in the midst of mayhem. While the gang shrinks away in crisis, the leader stretches toward the goal. Can your team depend on you when the chips are down? Rise up leaders – they need us now!

Yours to count on,

Pastor
